Starkey & Mueller’s Best Sports Jerseys Of All-Time
One of the best parts about attending a live sporting event is seeing the wide array of jerseys worn by the fans.
Some opt to go for the classic or old-school jersey they’ve had for 30 years, while others opt for the current attire worn by their favorite team.
There’s always that one guy that goes all out. You know, the one who probably spent an hour deciding between the 1990s Mario Lemieux jersey or his current Sidney Crosby.
Lately, nothing seems to draw a bigger line in the sand among fans than when the team unveils a new uniform.
Need proof? Ask Buffalo Sabres fans how they feel about their new third jerseys.
There may never be a bigger uprising over a jersey unveiling in recorded history.
So, this got us thinking. What are some of the absolute best jerseys of all-time? You know, the ones that will live on forever and always be a hit among fans.
Well, Chris Mueller and Joe Starkey of 93-7 The Fan recently made their selections.
What do you think? What’s your favorite jersey of all-time?
Chris Mueller’s Selections
No. 1 – Los Angeles Dodgers
Mile white Dodger blue. You’ve got the sun always shining at Chavez Ravine, just everything about it. It looks as white as white can get and it has that perfect contrasting blue.
No. 2 – Boston Celtics
That Kelly green, it looked better in green, but I loved it in white too. That is a classic color.
No. 3 – Chicago Blackhawks
No explanation given. No explanation needed.
Joe Starkey’s Selections
No 1. Old Time Pitt Panthers
I’m taking the Pitt old time blue and mustard and I’m including the helmet, the script helmet. The old time Pitt uniforms were unbelievable and it’s a crying shame they haven’t gone back to them.
No. 2 – Los Angeles Lakers
The greatest jersey of all-time with the purple and gold.
No. 3 – 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates
Those sharp white uniforms with the little gold and black around the short sleeve. Those things are beautiful.
