Police: 2 Moms Smoke Crack In Dirty Hotel Room In Front Of 4 Kids

CANTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Two women were arrested Friday morning, after police say they were smoking crack in front of four children in a dirty hotel room in Washington County.

The furniture has been removed from Room 170 at the America's Best Hotel in Canton Township after police say the space was filthy with garbage.

Four children were also taken out of the room, ages 18 months to 5 years. Police say the children weren't wearing any clothes or shoes and had full diapers.

Vanessa Mutschler, 27, is the mother of one of those children. Nyeacha Wilson, 24, is mom to the other three.

Police say they were snorting crack and shooting heroin right in front of the kids. Stamp bags, needles and spoons allegedly littered the room.

The widower of a long-time employee says this didn't used to happen.

"My wife worked here for 20 or 22 years," said Roger Anderson. "And they never had no problems like this."

They're replacing the carpet in the now infamous room; although, the motel owners say they had been planning the new carpet before the drug bust.

But new carpet can't hide the ugliness of addiction.

"This generation is getting terrible, too much of that stuff on the street. They get it so easy. Mothers go bad," said Anderson.

Both women face child endangerment charges, as well as drug charges.

The children are in the custody of Child Youth Services.
