On August 11th, 2014 the world lost the great actor, Robin Williams. Most remember him for his classic roles in Mork and Mindy, Good Will Hunting and Mrs. Doubtfire, but what some may not be as familiar with is the passion he had for sports. He always brought his own personal touch when it came to supporting his favorite sports teams and athletes. Williams always brought motivation to a whole new level.

Here are five reasons the world of sports will miss Robin Williams:

5. Best pre-game motivator.

Williams was a huge San Francisco Giants fan and when he attended the games he made sure everyone was just as excited for it as he was. The team even tweeted about losing one of their greatest fans.

4. He didn’t just support teams from the stands, but became one with the team.

During one of the 2002 Tour De France training sessions, the actor rode with the US Service Postal Team. Sure, many say Lance Armstrong may have won due to performance-enhancing drugs, but others may argue it was Robin Williams’ motivation.

3. Best in-game motivator

Tennis matches tend to go long and can get boring at times, but with Robin Williams there, there was never a dull moment in the stands. He basically stole the show from start to end at any sporting event.

 2. Played for charity

Fans love to see stars show their athletic skills and Williams was not one to let supporters down. During a charity match he and doubles partner, Pete Sampras gave Andre Agassi and Billy Crystal a real work out, mostly from laughing.

 1. NFL Cheerleader motivator

Okay, so he was a Denver Broncos Cheerleader for an episode of Mork and Mindy but we like to think that if Robin Williams was to be a NFL Cheerleader for a day this is exactly what it would have been like in real life.

Although he may never be able to give us the comic relief during intense sporting events again, he will always be there in spirit. #RIPRobinWilliams
