Lawn Care Truck Slams Into Brighton Heights House

BRIGHTON HEIGHTS (KDKA)- A lawn care truck slammed into several vehicles, went through a yard and crashed into a home early Monday morning in Brighton Heights

According to police, the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. along Termon Avenue.

The A&N Lawn Service truck hit Lora Bray's home.

"We were both sleeping, all of the sudden we heard a big crash - and my daughter screamed, 'Mommy, mommy did you hear that?' I jumped out, looked out the front bedroom window, that's when I saw this truck," said Bray.

By the time Bray got dressed and ran downstairs, the driver was already gone.

"I did hear the person try to back the truck up.  They were trying to start it, but it kept stalling, so they weren't able to move the truck. But, by the time I was able to get dressed, come out the front door, they were gone," said Bray.

Along with causing some structural damage to Bray's house, the truck also took off the front end of Bray's car. The truck also hit two neighbors' cars and tore up Bray's front yard.

The building inspector was called to the scene to investigate the stability of the home. Police are still trying to track down the driver.

"Naturally, this is devastating to us and very frightening. Both of us are safe, that's the most important thing.  I am thankful, even though this is terrible, it could have been worse and it wasn't," said Bray.

Bray said she found an empty beer bottle near the side of her house that wasn't there before.

The owner of A&N Lawn Service said he was trying to figure out the specifics of what took place.

Ross Township Police say the owner reported the truck had been stolen at 6:45 a.m. Monday.

Police are continuing to search for the person responsible.
