Police Probe Shooting Near Wilkinsburg Restaurant

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- Police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally shot while sitting in a booth at a Wilkinsburg restaurant Wednesday afternoon.

The shots rang out around 3:40 p.m. in the 700-block of Penn Avenue inside the Fireside Caribbean Restaurant.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victim as 31-year-old Lynneil Williams of Penn Hills. Police say he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say the suspect got away through a rear door.

"His meal was on the table in front of him; he was only there a few minutes," said Allegheny County Police Assistant Superintendent James Morton. "The actor came in less than five minutes after him and he went directly to him, shot him ran out the back door."

The suspect is described as an African American male with a bushy beard. He was wearing a white tee-shirt and a dark baseball cap.
