Barricaded Man Sends SWAT To Scott Twp.

SCOTT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police and the SWAT team were called to a home in Scott Township Thursday afternoon.

A man barricaded himself inside a home on Clairview Drive.

Police say the man called his estranged wife and threatened to take his own life.

She called 911.

"Our officers approached the house, and as they approached, he slammed the door, told them not to come closer or he would shoot himself," said Scott Township Police Chief James Secreet. "I talked to the gentleman on the phone. He was very agitated, told us not to come to the door anymore, anybody that came through the door was going to get shot and he would then shoot himself in the head."

Officers were able to open the garage door and enter the home.

The man was taken into custody without incident.

He is now being treated in the hospital.
