Vehicle Slams Into Pole In Edgeworth, Knocks Down Wires

EDGEWORTH (KDKA)- A man was rushed to the hospital after a violent crash in Edgeworth Wednesday morning.

According to police, a vehicle went off the road and slammed into a utility pole around 2:45 a.m. The force of the crash knocked the vehicle onto its side and left the pole leaning over Ohio River Boulevard.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and crews had a tough time getting to him due to power lines down on the vehicle.

He was pulled from the vehicle, put in an ambulance to rushed to an area hospital. It appears he will recover from his injuries.

Power crews will have to replace the leaning power pole.

This could cause lane delays along Ohio River Boulevard at Edgeworth Lane.
