Get Marty: Woman Demands Refund After Her New Puppy Is Diagnosed With Parvo

ROCHESTER (KDKA) -- A local woman who bought a puppy for her 3-year-old daughter reached out to KDKA-TV and Get Marty.

Dominique Sabol, of Rochester, says she bought the Goldendoodle puppy from a breeder in Ohio.

Sabol says the puppy became very ill within three days.

"He was throwing up and passing complete bloody stool," says Sabol.

A veterinarian told Sabol the puppy had Parvo.

Parvo is a highly-contagious disease that can be life-threatening to dogs.

Sabol says she took the puppy back to the breeder in Ohio. Sabol says she also gave her a refund check for $600 to cover the cost of the dog.

According to bank records, the dog breeder stopped payment on that check.

That's when Sabol came to KDKA.

We drove to Lisbon, Ohio, and talked with breeder Lori Warrick.

She promised to pay Sabol back for the dog, and within a few days, did just that.

"I just want this done. I've met so many wonderful families selling my puppies. I never dreamed I would ever have an experience like this. Hopefully, now that they have their money, the harassment will end," says Warrick.

Sabol is grateful for the refund.

She will not be purchasing a new dog for a while.
