Teen In Critical Condition After North Side Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a teen was critically injured in a shooting on the North Side Wednesday night.

According to police, the shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the 1000-block of Goehring Street.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the 18-year-old victim on the ground near a fire hydrant.

Four suspects approached the victim. One pulled out a gun and shot him in the back. Then, the group, "calmly walked away toward Itin Street."

"I heard a pop and at first I thought it was maybe a car accident or something. I looked out the window and I saw two kids just running full speed down the street. I looked over to the right and I saw a kid laying down on his back with fourth kid holding him," a witness said.

The victim was last listed in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital. His name has not been released at this time.

No arrests have been made and the suspects were described as:

  • An African-American male standing about 5-feet-8-inches tall with a dark, hooded-sweatshirt.
  • A short African-American male with orange or orange-striped boots.
  • A white male standing about 5-feet-8-inches tall with black hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and beige or gold work pants.
  • A short white male with dark hair, wearing a black hooded-sweatshirt with college lettering.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
