Ted Johnson: Texans Are Running Into 'A Buzzsaw'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Former Patriots linebacker, former teammate of Josh Miller and talk show host for SportsRadio 610 in Houston, Ted Johnson joined "The Fan Morning Show" Monday to talk about the Steelers' matchup with the Texans tonight.

Johnson likened the Steelers' current predicament to that which the Patriots pulled through two weeks ago, when they responded to heavy criticism with a home trouncing of the favored Cincinnati Bengals.

"I look at the same kind of thing," Johnson said. "Ben Roethlisberger's getting criticized. The team's getting criticized, 'What's going on here?' backs-against-the-wall kind of thing. That kind of environment at Heinz Field - and I've played there many, many times - it is a difficult place to play. They're going to go into a buzzsaw right now. So, I don't think the fans here are expecting too, too much. I mean guys, you've got to realize, this team was 2-14, the worst team in the NFL last year, and so expectations are certainly tempered. I don't think anybody's expecting the Texans to go up there tonight and put it on the Steelers."

He thinks the game will come down to playing mistake-free football.

"My guess is it's going to be a close game, it's going to come down to the end of the game," Johnson said. "And who's going to make the mistakes at the end of the game. It's who's going to execute at the end of the football game, who's going to make the mistake? Who's going to capitalize on it?"
