1 Killed, 1 Injured In Separate Washington Co. Shootings

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are looking for suspects after one person was killed and another injured in separate shootings early Saturday morning in Washington County.

Police say one man was gunned down in a parking lot, and the other at an apartment complex in the City of Washington. The violence has left the community there on edge.

"It's too much killing," Manuel Johnson, a Washington County resident, said.

Police say the first shooting happened just after midnight at Lincoln Terrace.

"It is scary. It is much more frequent than it used to be," said Donna Sukel, another Washington County resident.

The victim was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. There's been no word on that person's condition.

According to those close to the investigation, this may be a difficult case to crack because sources say police aren't getting much cooperation.

Hours later, in what appears to be an unrelated shooting, police say 21-year-old Matthew McGlone was gunned down in the parking lot outside the Comfort Lounge on Jefferson Avenue just after closing, around 2 a.m.

Police say McGlone was also taken to the Washington Hospital emergency room, but was pronounced dead just before 3 a.m.

"His father is a personal friend of mine, and when I found out, that's the first thing I thought - another senseless shooting," said Jim Manning, of Washington County.

There are surveillance cameras in back of the lounge, but right now, it's not clear how much the cameras captured.

According to family, McGlone was scheduled to start a new job on Monday. And two shootings on one night have left many in the community wondering, why?

"It rarely happens around here, so to have two shot and killed, well one killed, that's terrible," said Bakari Ali, also of Washington County.

So far, there have been no arrests in either case.
