State Police Rule Out Connection Between Ambush Suspect, Vehicle Theft

BOVINA, N.Y. (AP) - Police say they've determined that a car stolen in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains is not linked to the man being sought for the killing of a Pennsylvania state trooper.

Pennsylvania State Police spokeswoman Connie Devens said Saturday that authorities ruled out any connection to 31-year-old Eric Frein.

A 2012 Porsche Cayman that was reported stolen a week ago turned up about 100 miles north of the Poconos in Bovina, New York.

Frein is accused of opening fire at police barracks last month, killing one trooper and injuring a second.

A manhunt remains underway.
