Crews Working To Fix South Fayette Twp. Water Main Break

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A water main break in South Fayette Township has left about 200 customers without service.

According to officials, the break happened near the intersection of Boyce and Bayview Roads around 5 a.m.

Pennsylvania American Water officials said about 200 customers will experience little or no pressure or no water at all.

According to a statement, repairs could take up to 18 hours to complete.

"Customers will temporarily have no water in the following areas: Collier Township, Cuddy, Oakdale, South Fayette Township, Upper Saint Clair, Bridgeville, and surrounding areas," the statement said.

Nick Jarina lives across from where the break happened.  He said this is not the first time crews have had to repair the line.

"Water line blew the road out and lifted the asphalt and blew the dirt over the hill," he said. "They keep repairing it and that's it. It is a problem."

Meanwhile, water buffaloes are being set up in Boyce Plaza and a nearby 7-Eleven store for affected customers.

While crews make repairs, Boyce Road will be closed between Mayview Road and Washington Pike.
