Charges Dropped Against Hollywood Film Crew

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A Hollywood film and television producer was in court Tuesday.

Chris Moore, known for his work on "Good Will Hunting" and "American Pie," made the trip to Pittsburgh in support of his crew members, who were arrested earlier this year.

A total of six crew members from "The Chair" were charged with disorderly conduct for an incident that happened back in March.

Three were previously acquitted, while the other three were acquitted Tuesday.

Moore was not involved in the incident, but he was in the courtroom today on behalf of his crew.

"I came because its affecting their work, it's on their records right now. Some of them are losing jobs because they have this criminal thing on their record and I don't want people who work for me to be worried about, 'I might not get another job because something happened,'" Moore said.

Those crew members don't have to worry about the charges anymore.

This case started when the crew pulled into a parking lot right outside the inbound Fort Pitt Tunnel.

They got out of their vehicle to shoot video of a bus going in and out of the tunnel.

A tunnel employee noticed a slowdown in the traffic. Then, he saw that the crew was parked in a lot reserved for authorized vehicles and repeatedly asked the crew members to leave.

He eventually called Pennsylvania State Police.

"They parked in a parking lot to film a bus and as a result of that, with guns drawn, they were forced to the ground, handcuffed and charged," attorney Robert Del Greco, Jr said.

"I felt like, as we went through the process when people looked at it, they realized nobody had any bad intention, nobody was trying to do anything wrong. I think there was overreaction on both sides," Moore said.

The judge did tell Moore to apologize to the tunnel employee.

"The Chair," which is based on two directors filming the same movie script airs on Starz Saturday nights.
