Get Marty: Westmoreland Co. Couple Wants Neighbor's Dog Taken Off Streets

GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- A Westmorland County couple afraid to walk their dog because of their neighbor's dog, an animal they say is dangerous, reached out in desperation to Get Marty and KDKA's Marty Griffin.

Conrad and Loretta Ashkettle say their pet Yorkie, named Frankie, was brutally attacked and killed by the pit bull next door.

"The pit bull attacked the dog and broke its neck," says Conrad.

Loretta is devastated. The couple is now afraid the pit bull living next door will attack and kill their other Yorkie, named Cricket.

"I just want Cricket to live in peace," says Loretta.

That's when KDKA and Get Marty got involved.

"That dog must be taken off the street. That dog will be taken off the street," says defense attorney Phil Dilucente.

Meantime, KDKA'S Marty Griffin confronted the owners of the dog.

Right now, the dog is gone from the property.

The owners have also left the property.

If they return they will face a dangerous dog hearing.

If you'd like Marty to help you solve your problem, email him at GetMarty@kdka.com.
