AG Homebound After Getting Concussion During Car Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Attorney General Kathleen Kane is recuperating after a car accident left her with a concussion.

The car accident happened on Oct. 21 and Kane has been recovering at home ever since.

A spokesperson for Kane says the AG was riding in the backseat of a car when the driver hit a parked car.

The spokesperson says the driver was trying to grab an iPad that fell on the floor off of one of the seats at the time. The car was going 15 miles per hour.

During the crash, Kane flew forward and hit her head on the seat in front of her. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time, however, state law does not require backseat riders to wear a seat belt.

It's unclear when Kane will return to her office.
