Newsradio 1020 KDKA Editorial: Election Day

Election Day is Tuesday.

Most poll workers probably plan to bring a good book -

And chargers for their smart phones and other devices.

They'll have a lot of time to kill -

Because these are Midterm Elections.

There's no presidential race to motivate people -

So voter turnout is usually very low.

Here in Pennsylvania - there's an excellent reason to buck the trend.

We elect a governor on Tuesday.

Whether it's incumbent Republican Tom Corbett -

Or Democratic challenger Tom Wolf -

The winner will have a direct impact on our lives -

Certainly more than any president.

If a sense of civic duty doesn't get voters to the polls -

Self-interest certainly should.

Just a reminder -

Polls open at 7 AM Tuesday - and close at 8 PM.
