Missing Man's Family Holds Candlelight Vigil, Hopes For Break In Case

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The family of a missing Pittsburgh man gathered for a candlelight vigil Saturday afternoon, where they pleaded for someone to come forward with information in the case.

Family and friends gathered outside of the Lawrenceville apartment building where Andre Gray stayed before his disappearance last week.

They lit candles, they sang Gospel songs and they prayed.

"We're praying for justice, we're praying also for mercy and God's love upon the family," said Rev. Frank Tillman, a relative.

Eight days ago when Gray's mother didn't hear from her son, she came to his apartment and found what appeared to be a crime scene.

"When they go down there, they seen all the blood, smelled the bleach, no dog, no electronics, no phone, no nothing," said LaVaughn Johnson, a family friend.

Gray has been missing ever since, and while family and friends refuse to speculate on what may have happened, they're asking the community for help to find answers.

"His mom is hurting, his family is hurting," said another family friend. "Just would like for anyone who knows anything, you have the authorities number."

"Just a word would be helpful," added Carla Miles, Grays godmother. "If we just knew something, but we know nothing."

Meanwhile, family and friends say they'll continue to support Gray's mother while they seek closure.

"This has just really been a horrifying situation," said Chris Robinson, Gray's friend. "We just want closure for the family. We came today to organize a prayer to lift his mother up."

"So, Pokey, if you hear us, try to get to us somehow, someway," said Miles. "We don't know what's going on, but we love you and we miss you. We just want to see you home safely."
