How To Get A Jump Start On Black Friday Shopping

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Black Friday is still two weeks away, but for shoppers who really like to plan things out, some stores have already released their Black Friday ads.

Gone are the days of waiting for the newspaper. These ads are online.

Sheila Threet of Penn Hills is a Black Friday shopper who charts out an attack plan for the very busy shopping day.

"We look at everything. The upcoming sales and things like that, and then we hit the stores that are closer," said Threet.

Stores such as Target, Best Buy and JCPenney have already released Black Friday ads on their websites.

For stores such as Kohl's, Sears and Kmart you have to go to a site such as TheBlackFriday.com to get a sneak peek.

Elaine Luther, a business professor at Point Park University, says Black Friday has become an event for people where they enjoy the hunt.

"It's sort of like when you win early on the slots at a casino, then you're hooked," said Luther. "So the retailers are using game theories and making it almost like a contest or a scavenger hunt."

One major retailer who hasn't released a Black Friday ad yet is Walmart.

Here are some other sites that may help in your shopping planning: BlackFriday.com.
