Westmoreland Co. Auto Parts Shop Goes Up In Flames

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Westmoreland County auto parts shop went up in flames late Friday night.

Firefighters were called to Rick's Auto Parts on Hamilton Road, near Norwin Town Square in North Huntingdon around 11 p.m.

Firefighters were called out again Saturday morning when the fire rekindled twice.

"We had fire in between the walls," said Chief William Hardy, of the Larimer Volunteer Fire Department. "It was actually a double-walled, metal building, so [there were] areas where we actually had to take the siding off and get in between to extinguish burning timbers and burning insulation that was in between there."

No injuries were reported.

It's unclear how the fire started, but investigators say they do not suspect arson.
