Police: 9-Year Old Boy Taken From Parents, 100-Rats Found In Home
MORGANTOWN, W.Va (KDKA) – A nine-year old West Virginia boy has been taken away from his parents after their home was found to be infested with rats.
The Dominion Post reports Morgantown police have charged Michael Shreve and Michella Strickler with child neglect.
Authorities say their apartment was overrun with more than 100 rats, and the child had marks all over his body from the rodents.
An inspector says the rats may have been domesticated at one point, then got out of control.
