Ed Bouchette Says Le'Veon Bell Could Have Best Running Back Season In Team History

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Ed Bouchette joined the Starkey and Mueller Show on Thursday for his weekly spot and talked about Le'Veon Bell's MVP chances, Ike Taylor's recent play, and Todd Haley and his relationship with Ben Roethlisberger.

When asked about Bell's MVP chances, Bouchette said that the Steelers have three potential MVP candidates in Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown along with Bell.  Bouchette added that it depends on how the Steelers season ends.

"If the Steelers win the division, and Bell keeps going like this then I think he has a chance."

Bouchette was also asked for his opinion on if Ike Taylor should play if healthy and defended him on his play against the Bengals.

"I thought it was very unfair to put him on A.J. Green.  He had been out since the third game of the season with a broken forearm, and he wasn't playing like the Ike Taylor of old, and they haven't put him on individual great receivers in a while anyway."

Bouchette went on to say that the play of the rest of the secondary did not help him out on Sunday.

The next thing that Bouchette was asked about was offensive coordinator Todd Haley and if he can return to become a head coach again in the future and he said that he was not sure at this point.

"I'm not sure if there is any more connections that he has, so he'd have to attract it based on performance here, maybe his reputation as a tough guy some people might like that, it may turn some people off.  He has made it work here in Pittsburgh after a rough beginning."

Bouchette finally was asked about the relationship between Ben Roethlisberger and Haley and how Roethlisberger has been praising his offensive coordinator recently. Bouchette thinks that this is not just lip service and he said that their relationship has grown this season and even said that they socialize from time to time.

"I think it is genuine, because I think that some of us would have heard otherwise if it weren't, word would have gotten out by now, if those two were feuding. You don't hear the kind of things Ben was saying last year, this year."
