Strayhorn: Pitt Would Be Perfect Fit For Narduzzi

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Numerous media outlets reported Tuesday that Michigan State Defensive Coordinator will become the next Pitt football head coach.

Michigan State Spartans Sports Network color analyst Jason Strayhorn told "The Fan Morning Show" that Narduzzi demands excellence.

"Pat Narduzzi's a guy who just is so competitive. I think that he will stop at nothing but excellence and he'll demand that out of his players. At the same time, being a guy that the players will love to play for. I think it's a perfect fit for him, and I really hope that he gets this announcement pretty soon," Strayhorn said.

Strayhorn says that Narduzzi has been the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the past several seasons, and that will help him as a head coach.

"In that capacity, he's been able to run the ship, so to speak, on his side of the ball there on defense, and I think that that will help him going into a head coaching position," Strayhorn said.

Colin Dunlap asked Strayhorn if Narduzzi disciplines players that step out of line.

"This guy will not tolerate anything that will embarrass the family, and he considers the football team his family," Strayhorn said.
