1 Killed, 2 Injured In North Braddock Shooting

NORTH BRADDOCK (KDKA) – Allegheny County Police say they have now filed charges against two men in connection with a shooting Monday evening in North Braddock that left one person dead and two others injured.

According to police, Fredderick Holland and Justin Gomez, both 18, are being charged with criminal homicide. Gomez is also facing counts of receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence.

The shooting happened in the 1100-block of Rebecca Avenue just before 7 p.m.

Numerous people called 911 saying they heard multiple gunshots.

Police say 25-year-old Kierre Simmons was killed.

Police say he and a second victim were taken to local hospitals. That's where Smith died. The other victim was treated and released.

A third victim got himself to the hospital.

"What we know right now is a third person showed up at another hospital suffering from gunshot wounds that we believe were sustained in this incident," said Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman.

He was also treated for his injuries and released.

Witnesses told KDKA-TV that they saw a man sitting on the sidewalk appearing to hold his face where he suffered from a gunshot wound.

Police say they detained several people at the scene of the shooting.
