1 Injured In Butler Co. Fire

BUTLER COUNTY (KDKA) -- A home was destroyed by fire in Buffalo Township, Butler County Thursday night.

The fire sent a family out into the cold.

At least one person in the home was injured in the fire.

It started just before 8 p.m. on North Pike Road. A second alarm was called in for extra man power.

It was under control in about an hour, but the home was destroyed.

The fire chief said that one man was taken to the hospital.

"The homeowner, he's being checked out, we believe he may have taken a little bit of smoke, believed to have little burns on his feet," said Buffalo Township Fire Chief Matt Cypher. "That's being checked into."

The Valley News Dispatch says that a woman lived in the house also, but was not injured.

Officials are investigating the cause.
