After Four Decades Of Weather Forecasts, KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman To Retire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – After forecasting the weather for more than 43-years, KDKA-TV meteorologist Dennis Bowman will be retiring this spring.

Bowman has been a part of the Pittsburgh market for the past 26-years, including 10-years at KDKA-TV.

He's also worked in 5 other markets in the mid-west and New York during his long career.

Incredibly, Dennis estimates he's done some 66,000+ weather forecasts, and visited nearly 2,000 schools in 10 states over four decades of doing the weather.

There's no way to tell just how many children Dennis has inspired to love, and respect, the weather like he does.

"The people of Pittsburgh are incredible. We are so lucky to have been able to live and raise our kids and be with our grand kids here. This is our town and it will be our town in retirement. God is good and he blessed us with a great ride in a great city and I am proud to have served on air. And thanks to KDKA TV for giving an old guy like me a chance to build something on the morning show. I've loved every second of being here," Bowman says.

KDKA-TV News Director Anne Linaberger says, "Dennis has served our viewers well, been a wonderful colleague to work with, and an outstanding public representative for the station."

Dennis' last day will be April 17th.
