PennDOT To Replace 14 Bridges In Allegheny County

PennDOT is replacing more than a dozen bridges in Allegheny County.

It is part of a nearly $900 million project to fix deficient bridges.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the 14 bridges to be replaced include three Saxonburg Boulevard bridges, one in Shaler Township and two in O'Hara Township.

  • Center Street in White Oak
  • Streets Run Road in Baldwin Borough
  • Gibsonia Road in West Deer
  • Guys Run Road in Harmar
  • Bull Creek Road and Bakerstown Road in Fawn
  • Pine Creek Road in Shaler
  • Piney Fork Road in South Park
  • Monongahela Road in Forward
  • Thompson Run Road in Wilkins
  • Lafever Hill Road in Indiana Township

Combined, they carry about 66,000 vehicles on a typical day.

Another 39 bridges in the county are scheduled for replacement in the second and third years of the project.
