Dunlap: LeGarrette Blount Completes Community Service, Case Withdrawn
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Patriots running back, and former Steeler, LeGarrette Blount has one less thing to worry about as he prepares to play in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Blount had a marijuana possession charge withdrawn today after he completed 50 hours of community service, his attorney Casey White confirmed to 93.7 The Fan.
Blount was playing for the Steelers when he and running back Le'Veon Bell were stopped on McKnight Road in Ross Township on Aug. 20 and police found marijuana in Bell's car.
In December, District Judge Robert Opiela ordered Blount to complete 50 hours of community service by Feb. 4.
According to White, Blount recently completed his community service in Boston at a program geared toward helping inner-city youth.
The Steelers cut Blount after a Week 11 episode when he left the field before a game was over in Nashville against the Tennessee Titans.
Bell, the driver of the vehicle, was also charged with driving under the influence and has a Feb. 6 hearing to formalize his admission into the ARD program for first-time offenders.
Both Blount and Bell could still be subject to NFL discipline as a result of the McKnight Road incident.
