Firefighters Battle Extreme Cold While Responding To Overnight Flames

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Firefighters battled the bitter cold Saturday morning while responding to two overnight fires.

A home went up in flames around 2 a.m. in the 800-block of East 10th Avenue.

There's no word on whether anyone was hurt there.

It's unclear what started the fire.

In another fire, one man was rushed to the hospital.

Flames erupted in his North Union Township home, located in the 400-block of North Gallatin Avenue, around 3 a.m.

Reportedly the man suffered burns. He was flown to UPMC Mercy Hospital.
