Ray Searage: Bucs Will Have Some Interesting Pitchers In Camp

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Pirates pitching coach Ray Searage joined Dan Zangrilli on Bucco Talk a few days before pitchers and catchers report to Bradenton.

Searage says that Neal Huntington and his staff did a great job of assembling quality arms.

"We'll see how it plays out in spring training and we'll go from there. But there are some interesting pitchers that we've got," Searage said.

Searage gave an update on Charlie Morton, who is recovering from right hip surgery.

"Arm-wise, I think he is throwing the ball extremely well. He's in a good place mentally. Everything is coming real good, and I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but he's doing really well," Searage said.

Searage says that in his opinion, new addition Radhames Liz could fill a swing role on the staff.

"I can see this guy helping us in the rotation if need be and I can see this guy helping us out of the bullpen if need be," Searage said.
