1 Person Jumps From Home To Escape Beaver Co. Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One person was reportedly forced to jump from a Beaver County home in order to escape when flames broke out there on Monday night.

It started before 8:30 p.m. at a two-story home in the 1400-block of 3rd Avenue in Beaver Falls.

According to emergency officials, a man had to jump from the home.

Firefighters initially thought the man was trapped inside, but they quickly found out that wasn't the case.

"Initial reports were somebody was on the second floor," said David Seidl, of the City of Beaver Falls Fire Department. "It possibly started as a kitchen fire and he jumped from the second floor and was injured slightly. I'm not sure about his condition at this moment."

There's no word yet on injuries or how the fire started.

Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene.

Additional crews had to be called in because of the cold tempertures.
