You Need To Eat This: NOLA's Mardi Gras Celebration

Time to celebrate Mardi Gras!

And where better to celebrate than with Pittsburgh's New Orleans-inspired restaurant, NOLA?

The Market Square restaurant is celebrating Mardi Gras Tuesday with a special menu, face painting, specials and free king cake (plus some balcony bead throwing).

NOLA's Mardi Gras menu will include a seafood slider trio featuring a smoked catfish cake, salmon cake and crab cake.

I also might have to go just to try the loaded sweet potato fries, oh man. They're covered with a white truffle crème fraishe, wild boar bacon (!!!) and crispy Brussel sprout leaves.

You can also get the blackened redfish entrée, which comes garnished with many things, but most intriguing is the fried pickled okra. There's also a Cajun fried chicken dinner with creamed spinach, waffles and wild boar bacon gravy. If you get one of the entrees, you also get free king cake.

You can view the full Mardi Gras menu here.

NOLA is located in Market Square and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
