Gunfire Erupts In McKeesport, Woman Shot In Neck
MCKEESPORT (KDKA) - Police are looking into a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital in McKeesport.
Police say gunfire erupted in the 1700-block of Beech Street around 2 a.m. Some of the bullets went into a home on the street, and one struck a 47-year-old woman in the neck.
She was transported to the hospital and was last listed in critical condition.
The woman was in a second floor bathroom at the time of the shooting.
Police believe the shots were fired into the home from the intersection of Beech and Beaver Streets.
Several people were inside the home at the time, but only the woman was hit.
Police were still on the scene around 6 a.m. investigating the shooting and gathering evidence.
Allegheny County homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
