Snow Tapers Off, As Extreme Cold Moves In

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The snow is out -- almost -- but the cold is coming back.

Steady snowfall turned to sleet and rain Saturday night, causing a mess for many drivers around the city.

"For the most part, it's been an all-snow event," said KDKA's Jon Burnett.

But that's expected to change.

The snow is expected to stop by Sunday, but temperatures are also expected to plummet.

"The cold is just going to keep on coming and it's not going to let up anytime soon," said Burnett.

By Sunday afternoon we should see single digit temperatures.

Monday is expected to be the coldest day in the next week.

The high Sunday is 33, with a low of 5 degrees.

But Monday will only see a high of 10 degrees.
