James Harrison Announced Plans To Keep Playing In 2015

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Coming off a year in which he returned to the Steelers and played an integral role for the Steelers defense, linebacker James Harrison has announced he's holding off retirement for one more year.

Harrison made the announcement on his own Instagram page as he let his fans know he's heading to Arizona to train to get ready for the upcoming season.

The 36-year-old is coming off a year in which he recorded 45 tackles and 5.5 sacks in just 11 games.

Harrison rejoined the Steelers following their week three win over the Carolina Panthers as the team was dealing with a number of injuries at outside linebacker.

Whether or not Harrison will continue his career with the Steelers is not yet known, although CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason la Canfora told The FAN Morning Show earlier this month that he doesn't expect the Steelers will want Harrison back.

Meanwhile, Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined the Starkey and Mueller Show to weigh in on Harrison's future and he said he'd put the odds of Harrison coming back at 50/50.

"I'm going to put 50/50," Ed said.  "I'm a little more optimistic than some...I don't know that it's going to happen sooner before later.  It might be a little later, but I think there's a chance."
