Beaver Falls Weathers Storm, Beats New Castle 52-49

BEAVER FALLS (93-7 THE FAN) -- Metheny Field House held two WPIAL hoops titans Tuesday evening with the winner advancing the the boy's Class AAA title game this Friday at 9 p.m.

Beaver Falls gets its chance for a 10th WPIAL title as they beat the New Castle Red Hurricanes, 52-49.

The Tigers will face Indiana in the championship game to be played at the Petersen Events Center.

Tigers' super sophomore Donovan Jeter led the way with 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers.

Marquel Hooker led New Castle with 16 in the loss.

93.7 The Fan's John Phillips spoke to Tigers head coach Doug Biaga after the big win and told The Fan his program doesn't play second fiddle to all the hardware the 'Canes boast.

"We consider ourselves second to none with what we've done over the past 10 years," said Biaga. "I think it was a clash of the titans, two really big time programs on the big stage and the kids preformed up to those expectations."
