Report: Corey Hart To Make Pirates Debut On Monday

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - New Pirates first baseman Corey Hart was set to make his Pirates debut in the team's intrasquad scrimmage before slicing his foot on a hot tub.

According to Michael Hurcomb of CBSSports.com, Hart had three stitches to fix the cut but is set to make his debut with the team this Monday against the Minnesota Twins.

Hart signed with the Pirates this off-season inking a one-year, $2.5 million deal after spending one year with the Seattle Mariners.

Hart is no stranger to the NL Central having played 9 seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Hart's best season came in 2010 when he hit .283 with 31 home runs and 102 RBI.

Hart is expected to backup first baseman Pedro Alvarez.
