Former Head Coach Ben Howland: "Pitt Is Right There"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Former Pitt and UCLA Head Men's Basketball Coach Ben Howland joined The Cook and Poni Show on Wednesday. He thinks Pitt can get into the NCAA Tournament if they can win the final two regular season games.

"Pitt is right there," Howland said. "Wins in the final two games puts them in a great position to get into the tournament."

That starts with a game tonight at the Petersen Events Center against Miami.

"The players understand this is a must win," Howland added. "This is not going to be an easy game."

Howland does think that Pitt will find a way to win and get into the tournament.

That tournament could be Kentucky's to win who improved to (30-0) last night with a win at Georgia. Howland said that he thought that was Kentucky's last game to have a chance to lose. He would pick Virginia or Duke as teams that could have a shot.
