Instagram Photo Launches Local College Student's Modeling Career

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One picture on Instagram changed everything for a Point Park University basketball player.

He went from a student who also did some construction jobs, to big-time model.

Matthew Noszka, 22, of Scott Township, posted a picture of himself shirtless last summer next to a backyard deck he built.

An agent from the prestigious Wilhelmina modeling agency contacted him and asked for more. Soon his career was underway.

"That Instagram photo just started it," said Point Park University Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach Gabe Bubon. "Once it got found, it just took off."

He's now in ad campaigns seen all over the world, and has told his story on "Ellen" and other TV national shows.

Noszka got so many jobs he eventually was forced to quit school and the basketball team.

"It's funny because Matt in his mind, he's still a basketball player," said Bubon, "He's still a student, and now he's one of the biggest models in country like overnight, and we're very happy for him."

Noszka tells KDKA's David Highfield that he loves modeling and would also like to pursue an acting career.
