Penn Hills School District: No Allegations Of Missing Money

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- A day after the Penn Hills School District business manager Richard Liberto was placed on administrative leave and told to hand over his office keys and cell phone, district officials haven't yet fully explained why he was let go.

The district said initially that Liberto was placed on leave with pay so there could be an audit of current office practices.

Liberto told KDKA-TV that the district was broke because of charter schools and teacher pensions.

KDKA-TV reported money was unaccounted for.

The District says: "We want to state that at no time has the Penn Hills staff suggested in any way that we are investigating missing money, nor have we received any allegations which suggest that money is missing."
