Pennsylvania Resources Council Announces 2015 Schedule Of "Hard To Recycle" Collections
According to a press release from the Pennsylvania Resources Council, they will host the first of six "hard-to-recycle" collection events on Saturday, April 11th to give residents the chance to drop off e-waste, computers, cell phones, microwave ovens and polystyrene packaging material at no cost. However, there will be a fee to drop off alkaline batteries, tires, small Freon appliances, fluorescent tubes and small kitchen appliances.
The first PRC hard-to-recycle collection will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills (parking lot near Dingbats) in Frazer Township.
A second collection will take place at this location on April 25 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
"Due to the popularity of collection events held at this location in past years, PRC will hold a second hard-to-recycle collection at Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills two weeks later to provide residents with shorter lines and more flexibility in scheduling material drop off," according to PRC Regional Director Justin Stockdale. "The overall popularity of these collection events continues to increase, and, as a result, PRC is expanding the number of collections from four to six events this year, including a collection in a parking lot outside Heinz Field."
This year the PRC is working in collaboration with Allegheny County Health Department, Colcom Foundation, Duquesne Light Watt Choices, The Heinz Endowments, LANXESS Corporation and NOVA Chemicals Corporation.
