Fire Marshal Investigating Cause Of New Castle Apartment Fire

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- Two dogs were killed when fire broke out at an apartment building in New Castle Monday evening.

The fire was reported shortly after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Court and S. Ray Streets.

According to the New Castle fire chief, the building was a large home that had been divided into two apartments.

The family of four who lived on the first floor was able to get out safely with their pets, but the couple who lived on the second floor lost both their dogs in the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
