Community Healing 1 Year After Franklin Regional Stabbings

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Exactly one year after 21 students and a security guard were stabbed at Franklin Regional High School, the district reports students and staff are healing emotionally.

All of the victims survived the attack at the school in Murrysville.

District officials say they are grateful for the support from the community, but they are asking for privacy marking today's anniversary.

Alex Hribal, 17, is charged in the case and remains in a juvenile detention center.

He has been undergoing psychological treatment since his arrest.

His lawyer continues to push to have the case moved to juvenile court.

The community will hold several prayer services tonight.

Murrysville Alliance Church, Murrysville Community Church and Salem Lutheran Church will hold services at 7 p.m.

Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church will hold a worship service at 8 p.m.

Students, families, friends and members of the community are invited to attend services.
