Crime Stoppers Seeking Answers In Stanton Heights Homicide

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are reaching out to the public for help in the investigation into the shooting death of 20-year-old Jordan Kearney of Stanton Heights.

Kearney was found shot to death in his blue Saturn in the Sunnyside Elementary School parking lot on Stanton Avenue last December.

The school is not far from Kearney's home.

"We are completely stumped," Pittsburgh Police Commander RaShall Brackney said. "This is a young man who was really not engaged with law enforcement. We have nothing that could lead us to understand why this young man died."

Kearney was found on the morning of December 17, but police believe he was likely shot the previous night because neighbors heard what sounded like gunshots.

Commander Brackney said, "Somebody knows something. There's a reason he was in that parking lot and a reason he was killed."

Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

The Crime Stoppers number is 412-255-8477.
