Investigators: 4-Week-Old Baby Suffered "Extraordinary Physical Abuse"

WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) – Doctors say there is no other explanation for a local baby's injuries, other than physical violence.

And police say that violence came at the hands of the child's primary caregiver.

Westmoreland County police say the alleged abuse took place inside a home on Henry Street in North Belle Vernon.

The victim is a 4-week-old baby old baby girl.

The alleged abuser is 29-year-old Robbery Radacy, Jr. who is the baby's father.

According to physicians, the baby had a broken arm, broken leg and broken ribs. They say it appeared at one time the baby may have been starved of oxygen.

According to Radacy, the injuries came from a car seat.

He told investigators he may have tied the straps a little too tight when he was putting the baby in her car seat and that's the reason for all the injuries.

She was rushed from the home to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A doctor says the baby suffered "extraordinary, physical abuse," and that the injuries had "no medical diagnosis aside from physical violence."

The criminal complaint also says, "The amount of violence that this child has sustained in her short life is nearly inconceivable."
