West Kittanning Homes Vandalized With Obscene Graffiti

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- State police are trying to figure out who put obscene pictures and homophobic graffiti onto people's homes and garages in West Kittanning.

Several residents' homes were targeted, along with three town officials.

Mayor James Sobiski, Council President Bob Venesky and Council Candidate Michael Kunselman's homes were all targeted. They think the person responsible has something against the local government.

While there have been no arrests yet, state and local police have some surveillance video to go off of. As for the mayor, he's stuck with the graffiti for a while.

"I can't find anybody to remove it," he said. "I've called different companies and nobody does that kind of work around here."

As for the graffiti on Kunselman's home, police may investigate it as a hate crime because he is gay.

So far, no suspects have been identified in the case. But despite the offensive messages and pictures, they say the graffiti doesn't change their positive view of West Kittanning as a whole.

"We're a little town," said Sobiski. "We don't deserve this."
