Report: Ranking The Steelers Strengths By Position

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Kirk Larrabee of 247Sports.com recently ranked the Steelers' biggest strengths and weaknesses by position, with very few surprises at the top and bottom.

According to Larrabee, the biggest strength for the Steelers is at quarterback with Ben Roethlisberger leading the way.

The biggest weakness? Cornerback.

With two incoming rookies that will likely receive significant playing time, this position appears as though it will remain nothing more than a giant question mark all season long.

Larrabee then rates wide receiver, running back and inside linebacker as the second, third and fourth best positions.

The offensive line comes in at fifth place, despite having their best season in years in terms of keeping Roethlisberger upright and giving him time to make plays, not to mention the increased performance in the running game.

It should probably come as no real surprise that five of the top six positions for the Steelers are on the offensive side of the ball, with inside linebacker being the only defensive position to appear that high. The Steelers have invested heavily in their offense, and given their production on that side of the ball last year, it paid off.

Now, it will be the defense's turn this year to take the next step as the team used six of their eight drafts picks, including their first two, on defensive players.
