Teen Charged As An Adult, Accused Of Holding Ex-Girlfriend At Gunpoint

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA)- A 17-year-old from McKees Rocks is accused of holding his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint and threatening to kill her.

James Blakemore is facing charges of aggravated assault, burglary, harassment, criminal mischief and carrying a firearm without a license.

Police say Blakemore went to his ex-girlfriend's house on Friendship Avenue in McKees Rocks and tried to get back together with her. When she declined, police say Blakemore got angry and threatened her by gesturing his hand towards his belt that he had a firearm.

Blakemore fled the scene before police arrived.

A second call was made on Sunday about a half hour later. Police arrived on scene to find the rear door of the house on Friendship Avenue kicked in. Blakemore's ex-girlfriend said he returned to the house and she had a cut on her lip.

She stated that Blakemore burned her shoes and work shirt and then kicked a hole through her TV. She went on to say he began choking her and then shoved a gun into her hip and then held it to her head. The criminal complaint says he threatened to kill her while holding the gun to her head.

She grabbed a pocket knife and was willing to use it. That's when Blakemore fled the scene, leaving the gun under the bed. The gun was recovered by officers on the scene.

Blakemore was found a short time later behind a corner store on Frederick Street. He was taken into custody without incident.

The assistant district attorney  has decided to charge Blakemore as an adult.
