Missing 2-Year-Old Girl's Body Found In Swissvale

SWISSVALE (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a body was found in Swissvale Sunday night.

According to the medical examiner, the girl has been identified as 2-year-old Adrionna Williams. The girl was reported missing around 7 p.m. Sunday.

It wasn't long after that her body was found.

"The child was found at roughly 7:40 in a remote area in Swissvale," Allegheny Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

She was last seen alive around 6:30 p.m.

Police have not said who found the little girl, who would have turned three in July. However, the body was discovered in a wooded area off of Chalmers Street.

Police knew early in the investigation that she did not get there on her own.

"We do not believe the child walked there from her Wilkinsburg home. It's too far. We think the child was placed there after its death," Lt. Schurman said.

Allegheny County Police say Swissvale Police helped the investigation greatly by setting up a tent at the scene to preserve any and all evidence during heavy downpours Sunday night.

At this time, detectives are waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine how the girl died and are continuing to investigate where and who she was with prior to her death.

"That's the crux of the investigation; where the child was, who was in care of the child, the child's family and friends," Lt. Schurman said. "We're in the process of interviewing everyone close to the child."

Anyone with information is asked to call the County Police Homicide Unit at (412)-473-1300.
