4 Teens Injured, 3 Critically, After Car Hits Telephone Pole

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Four teens were hospitalized after a crash in Robinson Township early Sunday morning.

According to police, the accident happened along Clever Road shortly after 1 a.m.

Robinson Township police say five teenage boys, all 16 years old were heading westbound.

At some point, police say the driver took his eyes off the road to change a song on the radio, lost control and crashed into a telephone pole.

Police say three teens were ejected from the car and a fourth was trapped inside.

Sources say the fifth teen walked away uninjured.

Three of the teens were hospitalized in critical condition.

Sources say some have internal bleeding, and several broken bones. Two of the teens have already gone through several surgeries.

KDKA's Amy Wadas spoke to the brother of one of the victims over Facebook earlier in the day Sunday.

He said his entire family has been by his brother all day, and is thankful for everyone's prayers.

Police say they are investigating whether or not speed and alcohol are factors in this crash.

All five teens go to Montour High School.
